Allegro sellers have more than one October deadline to prepare for.
The marketplace published a broad set of changes on 7 October, with most taking effect on 27 October and a major customer-service change following on 28 October.
Some affect only narrow groups of sellers. Others change everyday work, including how purchase problems are handled, what information certain listings must contain and what Allegro can check automatically.
The easiest way to prepare is not to treat the announcement as one long Terms and Conditions update.
Split it into two groups:
- changes that may require work before the deadline;
- changes sellers should understand but do not need to configure themselves.
Here is the practical version.
Start with the changes that can affect daily operations
The biggest general change arrives on 28 October.
Buyers will no longer open new Discussions when they report a problem with a purchase.
Instead, they will report a purchase problem that goes directly into the Message Center.
Sellers will then handle the conversation there.
The existing response rule remains important. Allegro says sellers will have 24 hours to respond to the buyer’s first message, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
There will also be a transition period.
Discussions opened before 28 October will continue in the existing area until they are resolved. New purchase problems will appear in Message Center.
For a while, some sellers will therefore need to monitor both places.
Complaints are not moving in this first step.
What to do
Before 28 October:
- make sure staff who handle customer issues know about the new Message Center flow;
- check who receives Message Center notifications;
- keep the existing Discussions view in the daily support routine;
- do not assume every old case will migrate automatically;
- keep the 24-hour first-response rule visible to the support team.
For larger sellers, this is also worth checking against any external customer-service software or internal procedures built around Discussions.
Sellers of drinking-water products have new listing requirements
One of the 27 October changes applies to products and substances used with drinking water.
Allegro lists three broad groups:
- materials or products intended to come into contact with drinking water;
- filtering materials intended for contact with drinking water;
- chemicals used for water treatment.
For affected offers, sellers will need to include more specific compliance information.
That includes:
- confirmation that the product has the required certificate or approval, including its number;
- the technical or trade name;
- the product’s intended scope of application.
Allegro says offers can be blocked if required information is missing.
This is therefore not just an editorial tidy-up.
What to do
Identify affected SKUs now.
Then check whether the information exists in a structured product database or only in PDFs and supplier documents.
If hundreds of listings are affected, updating them manually near the deadline will be much harder than fixing the source product data once.
Allegro says the change reflects Polish legal changes linked to EU rules.
Explosive precursor listings also change on 27 October
A separate rule applies to products containing explosive precursors.
Affected offers will need to state that the product or one of its substances is a precursor and give the name and concentration of each relevant substance.
Allegro also says restricted precursors can only be sold to buyers using them for professional purposes after verification.
This is a specialist category, but sellers operating in it should not leave the review until the final week.
Check both listing data and the buyer-verification process.
The marketplace links the requirements to EU regulation.
One Fulfillment users need better shipment data
Another operational change affects sellers using the One Fulfillment by Allegro labelling service.
From 27 October, each advance shipping notice, or ASN, must contain enough information for Allegro to identify the incoming delivery precisely.
Depending on the shipment, this includes:
- delivery method;
- vehicle registration number where the seller handles transport;
- number and type of cartons, pallets or containers;
- SKU quantities assigned to specific packaging.
This requirement has a direct consequence.
Allegro says a shipment it cannot identify because the required information is missing may be refused and returned at the seller’s expense.
What to do
If fulfilment data comes from an ERP, warehouse system or integration partner, test the export before 27 October.
Do not wait until the first rejected delivery to find out a required field is missing.
Allegro is expanding automated content checks
Another change does not require sellers to switch anything on, but it is worth understanding.
Allegro already uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to identify problems such as prohibited products, listing errors and potential fraud.
From 27 October, its Terms and Conditions will make clear that automated analysis can extend beyond offers.
The listed material includes:
- reviews;
- reports;
- applications;
- messages.
If Allegro finds a violation, it says possible actions include suspending an offer, removing part of it, ending it or stopping it from being shared in foreign marketplaces.
Allegro also says sellers will receive a reason, be told when the decision was automated and be able to appeal.
For sellers operating across several Allegro markets, the foreign-marketplace point is especially worth noting.
This does not mean every review, message or listing will suddenly be removed by AI.
It means the documented scope of Allegro’s automated checks is getting broader.
A new AI Assistant will handle order questions
On 27 October, Allegro also plans to add an AI Assistant to its Help Center for buyers and sellers.
When a seller is logged in, the assistant can use information about their sales to answer questions connected to specific orders.
Allegro says it can:
- answer order-related questions;
- explain marketplace rules;
- point users to relevant instructions and Terms and Conditions.
Users can request a human consultant.
This does not require seller setup, but support teams should know it exists before directing colleagues or customers through Allegro’s help flow.
Allegro is also expanding its existing seller assistant, Alli, so sellers can check whether products are eligible for One Fulfillment.
Transaction rebates should become easier
Allegro is also changing how it grants automatic transaction rebates, which refund sales commission in qualifying cases.
At present, a seller’s sales quality level can affect whether the rebate is issued automatically.
From 27 October, Allegro says it will stop using the sales quality level as a condition for automatic rebates.
Other requirements remain.
For example, the buyer still needs to withdraw through the relevant form and the refund must be handled through Allegro where those conditions apply.
Sellers do not need to configure this change.
It may reduce the number of cases where a manual rebate application is required.
Allegro Ads wording is changing, but not the ad system
The October notice also includes a change to the Allegro Ads Terms and Conditions.
This needs careful wording because it can easily be mistaken for a ranking update.
Allegro says the changes are editorial and do not change how Allegro Ads operates.
The updated terms will clarify definitions around the multiplier and multiplier ranking used in ad display and position.
They will also add a definition of the service fee charged for displaying ads in the Advertising Network.
That is useful documentation for advertisers.
It is not evidence of a new auction or ranking system.
NEMO would not change bidding strategy based on this Terms update alone.
Other 27 October changes to know about
Several smaller changes are arriving on the same day.
Smart! Coins in challenges
Sellers on allegro.pl will be able to add their own Smart! Coins to certain buyer challenges within a set budget.
Allegro Prices
Offers will be able to participate even when the seller does not issue VAT invoices. Allegro says this removes an existing eligibility condition.
Pocztex parcels
Allegro is clarifying what counts as a non-standard parcel and correcting the maximum length stated for a standard Allegro Pocztex Courier parcel.
Privacy documents
Allegro is updating its privacy policy and data-processing agreement, including more detail on AI assistants and misuse prevention.
These are worth reading if they apply to your account, but they should not distract from the changes that can stop a listing, delay a shipment or cause a customer-service deadline to be missed.
The seller checklist for 27 and 28 October
Use this as the final review.
| Area | Deadline | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase problems | 28 Oct | Train support team on Message Center |
| Existing Discussions | Transition | Keep monitoring until resolved |
| Drinking-water products | 27 Oct | Add required certification and product details |
| Explosive precursors | 27 Oct | Review descriptions and buyer verification |
| One Fulfillment ASN | 27 Oct | Check shipment fields and integrations |
| Automated checks | 27 Oct | Review broader moderation scope and appeal process |
| AI Help Assistant | 27 Oct | No setup, brief support team |
| Transaction rebates | 27 Oct | No setup required |
| Allegro Ads terms | 27 Oct | Read clarification, no campaign change required |
| Smart! Coins | 27 Oct | Optional promotional tool |
For many sellers, the first three practical jobs are straightforward:
check customer-service routing, identify affected product listings and test fulfilment data.
Those are the changes most likely to create an immediate operational problem if they are missed.
Do not treat every Terms change as an emergency
Allegro’s October announcement is long because it covers several services at once.
Not every line needs a project.
Some sellers will have no drinking-water products, no precursor listings and no One Fulfillment shipments.
Their main change may simply be the new Message Center process.
Others may need several teams involved before 27 October.
The useful approach is to filter the announcement against the way the account actually operates.
Start with anything that can block an offer, reject a warehouse delivery or cause a customer-response deadline to be missed.
Then work through the informational changes.
